Playing Chess Online: which platform is the best?

GameKnotA housekeeping announcement. One of my personal goal this year is to try to play at least one chess game per week. I’ve been looking for a good, free online chess players platform, and my investigation led me to GameKnot. Anything better to recommend me? Do you feel like joining? For your information, I’m a poor chess player but I really enjoy the game. I played maybe once or twice in the last 5 years…

Jeremy, I’ll join, I’d be happy to see who’s best at chess.

I’m sure you’re a lot better than I Steve, but my room for improvement is huge.

Feel free to give me a buzz one night so that we can play chess together, I’m very excited about it.

it is worth telling you that i have played on gameknot for 7 years with a paid membership for all of them. in fact, i recently paid 3 years in advance at the highest possible paid level. shorty after paying, they terminated my account for (as far as i can tell, they refuse to respond to my emails) having games timeout (which was totally out of my control). that tallies to about $300 that they, in effect, stole from me. great site. theiving owners/operators. recommend: play for free or if you’re highly morally bound, play elsewhere. don’t give them any money.

That’s very good to know Robert. I appreciate your testimony. What if I’m highly morally bound and want to play elsewhere? Which free platform would you recommend?

    Thanks.
