Playing Chess Online: which platform is the best?
A housekeeping announcement. One of my personal goal this year is to try to play at least one chess game per week. I’ve been looking for a good, free online chess players platform, and my investigation led me to GameKnot. Anything better to recommend me? Do you feel like joining? For your information, I’m a poor chess player but I really enjoy the game. I played maybe once or twice in the last 5 years…

Jeremy, I’ll join, I’d be happy to see who’s best at chess.

I’m sure you’re a lot better than I Steve, but my room for improvement is huge.
Feel free to give me a buzz one night so that we can play chess together, I’m very excited about it.
Jeremy
it is worth telling you that i have played on gameknot for 7 years with a paid membership for all of them. in fact, i recently paid 3 years in advance at the highest possible paid level. shorty after paying, they terminated my account for (as far as i can tell, they refuse to respond to my emails) having games timeout (which was totally out of my control). that tallies to about $300 that they, in effect, stole from me. great site. theiving owners/operators. recommend: play for free or if you’re highly morally bound, play elsewhere. don’t give them any money.
That’s very good to know Robert. I appreciate your testimony. What if I’m highly morally bound and want to play elsewhere? Which free platform would you recommend?
Thanks.
