Apple releases MacBook pro powered with Intel Core Duo 2

Unlucky. I’m just unlucky. Two weeks after I received my Macbook Pro 17′ 120Mb HD, Core Duo 2,16Ghz, Apple announced the release of a Core Duo 2 / 200Mb. HD MacBook pro laptop. It sucks.

Anyways, can you imagine that I spend half of my time on MS Windows (the other half on Mac OS)? The 3 main reasons are:

1) The Flickr uploading software for Mac OS isn’t as good as the one available for Windows: there’s no “right button uploading” feature (obviously, there’s just one button on Apple mice);

2) I use Windows Live Writer to blog, and it’s not available on a Mac;

3) I’m testing IE 7, Firefox 2 and Vista…

    You’re not unlucky – product releases happen and there is always new tech right around the corner. It was bound to happen at some point. What I’d like to know about these new models is that are they still toasters or did they get that heating issue fixed?

    Man, did you get screwed over your harddrive or what! (i mean 200mb, that’s less than ipod shuffle!) =)

    And as for 1, don’t you use FlickrExport plugin for iPhoto or Automator to do a workflow?

    Kari, I didn’t even get 200Mb, but 120. I’ll try to implement this workflow thing but I don’t know how that works yet. I think I need to come to Helsinki some day to take a Mac OS course));

    What do you think about IE7, btw? I think it’s actually pretty good. The fact that they have taken most buttons and menus away is good thing, at least I think so. The feed, history & bookmarks-window-bar-thingie is something I’m not really fond.

    I think, like you, that it’s a good release. I’ll post a short something about it soon.

  5. Sorry to hear about it, though Kari’s right, updates happen all the time and it’s best to just enjoy what you have.

    As for the right-click, isn’t it possible to right-click with two fingers on the trackpad on the Intel-Macs?

    There are several Flickr-uploading tools for Mac suggested on the Flickr-site, even some that integrate nicely with iPhoto, and 1001, that’s made by the maker of the Ecto blog-software, and which integrates with that.

    Hope that helps.

    I’m enjoying Vince, don’t worry. Thanks for the Flickr uploaders you recommend me, I’ll check it out as soon as I can.
