Office Live's simplicity rocks: the case of software company PipoSoft
A big apology to non-French speakers who’re about to miss something: my Centrale Paris classmates & pals Adrien, Yan, Babacar & Jeremy have, for the fun of it, created this website on Microsoft Office Live in a wink. Office Live allows SMEs to promote their business on the web, using a website factoring tool and the power of Adcenter to market it on the Internet. Considering the width of services and advantages, Office Live’s dirt chip, and really, really simple to use (PipoSoft website created in no more than 5 minutes, I’m telling you!). No doubt Office Live will become a killer app amongst entrepreneurs & practice managers willing to make their business visible worldwide.

5 minutes to create the website, how long to make it respect w3c standards??
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpipo-soft.com%2Fdefault.aspx
tables for layout, style inside the page…
Might be good for a quick start but won’t make it on the long term and you’re stuck with a website that works better with Microsoft product and might not work on other platform or in the future.
Hey Aurélien,
Interesting point: I’ve checked myself and you’re totally right, w3c standards don’t seem to be 100% respected.
When it comes to the question of interoperability though, it looks as if everything is going to be allright: MS Office Live websites look similar on Camino, Safari, Opera, MSIE6 & MSIE7. Also checked. And when it comes to software with which Office Live-built websites will operate, I don’t really see which kind of tests I could make. Any idea?
Hey Jeremy,
thank you for the buzz. I hope it will bring us thousands of new clients
By the way, you have to use Internet Explorer running on Windows in order to use the built-in page creator (required in the free version we used)
Allright, thanks for the info. But I guess the few people that have uninstalled MSIE wouldn’t use Office Live anyways…
Hola,
And yes you have to wear Microsoft glasses to watch your screen, and you are required to drink Microsoft coffee too while using this online application.
Nevertheless the result happens to be quite nice anyway.
Hey everybody !
5 minutes to create a website, but how long to translate all your posts and comments to English, even if we are all French here ?
Hey Ghislain,
Good to see you on my blog. Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not translating any of my posts: they’re thought and written in English from scratch.
And very few of my readers are actually French: maybe 15% – 20% of them (50% of comments left by the French though).
I blog in English to be more visible internationally & to bridge people and my vision of technology with the views of people from different continents. Last but not least, blogging is a good way for me to keep in touch with my friends (usually not French either) living abroad.
